D+C Talks: State Of Art x Melillo with Irania Veitia.

D + C Talks

State Of Art, an event in which we had the opportunity to debut by presenting an intervened piece by Gennaro Rodríguez and Gabriel Wong, was an exciting and meaningful experience. Our contribution was a table that will be auctioned for the benefit of ANCEC, the National Association Against Cancer, Chapter of Santiago. The assembly of the work, the support of the entire organizing team, as well as the collaboration among all involved, was fundamental to the success of our participation. Irania Veitia, one of the organizers and director of AUNO Panama Magazine, is a key figure whose vision and dedication have made this artistic encounter possible for over five years.

In this edition of D+C Talks, Irania will tell us more about this enriching event and how it contributes to the art world and charitable causes such as ANCEC.

Tell us about your experience coordinating the successful execution of State Of Art!
State of Art is definitely a wonderful Art event that also allows us to unite fashion and luxury. Thanks to the trust that Multiplaza Shopping Center has placed in us and our partner Grupo Siete, we have been organizing this event for 5 years with great care and responsibility. We have become art scouts year after year, always trying to maintain a balance between the exhibitors, their works, and what the mall also requests from us.

What can you tell us about the Melillo. x Gennaro Rodríguez x Gabriel Wong installation and their participation in State Of Art?
This year it was very exciting to have them present, in a single piece and also to be the only one this year in the event that had the sale of the same with a charitable purpose, that is something that motivated me a lot and it was achieved!!! With an impeccable and very beautiful installation by Melillo Group, on par with all the other art proposals that the rest of the artists participating this year also exhibited.

What was your favorite part of the whole event?
The meet and greets! I really enjoy being able to invite potential guests so that they can interact with the artist and their works in a moment totally exclusive to them.

Finally, do you think initiatives like State Of Art are important to maximize the visibility and knowledge of local artists?
Absolutely, so we will continue to promote this type of events and others that are also related to art, architecture, and decoration so that many more people can get to know the talent that many have and that unfortunately sometimes we don’t know about.
